romanian lessons

Sometimes when we hear the word ‘’routine’’, we tend to think something boring, something that sets us boundaries. We wake up, we eat, we work, we eat again, we are doing some things that give us some pleasure (hopefully we all have some free time) and the day has come to an end and we go to sleep. But we, as human beings, have some needs that we want to satisfy them in order to feel good.

On the other hand, if, let’s say, you have a ‘’scheduled routine’’ -and please allow me the termination-, we are pretty sure, that you will indeed feel better each day, you will find out eventually that you will be able to fulfill small targets daily, which, although they are small, they will give you some satisfaction. Why did we like this? In order to give you the daily routine of the most of the persons who live in a Romanian city, let’s say Bucharest. In this article we will try to present it, to present, in other words, the way that the most people and especially younger people live their life by using also some words in Romanian language.

Suppose that you just landed there. You took some Romanian lessons (we believe online Romanian lessons for your safety) prior to your move in this new city and before you started your new life in the unknown. Don’t panic though! Here we have some advice for your daily routine until you find your rhythms! (And don’t forget, this Romanian lesson for beginners like you, is for free!)

  • I wake up at 7 and I am going to the gym = Mă trezesc la 7 si merg la sală

Many people in Romania prefer a healthy way to start their day day, so either they are going to they gym, either to one of the hundreds of parks for jogging. Why not?

  • I am having my breakfast = Iau micul dejun

Most possible you will have a long day ahead, so remember to have a rich and healthy breakfast, as, like they say, this is the most important meal of the day or cea mai importantă masă a zilei. Personally, I tend to agree with that.

  • Make many short breaks among your working hours = Faci multe pauze scurte între orele de lucru

We are sure that you will be provided with a laptop for your work, so it is very important to put your eyes away from the screen for a little bit during the working hours to rest them. Don’t worry, your stuff will still be there waiting for you.

  • One hour lunch break = – O oră pauză de prânz

And between us, a small nap maybe…!

hour = oră

lunch = prânz

break = prânz

The time to finish your work has come, now this is the time for you. Do things that you like, socialize, invite friends at home.

I’ m going to a café = Merg la o cafea

I’m going to the movies = Merg la cinema

I play basketball / football  = Joc baschet / fotbal

I’m meeting some friends = Mă întâlnesc cu niște prieteni

We are sure that there are a million things more for you to do and we promise that as the time passes, you will be able to react with the locals as well to see better their habits. For that, we advise you to hire a Romanian teacher and even better (and if you can afford of course) a private Romanian tutor in order to learn fluently the Romanian language, making your life easier in every aspect. Enjoy your new life and your new routine!

Good night! = Noapte bună!
